Clarity before growth.
I help founders and leadership teams align brand, leadership, and commercial strategy — so they can make fewer, better decisions, and grow with clarity, not confusion.
A Finnish-American perspective on growth
With more than 25 years of experience across global brands, agencies, growth-stage businesses, and executive leadership, I work with founders and leadership teams to align brand, leadership, and commercial strategy, so they can make better decisions and scale with greater confidence.
As a Finnish-American business leader with experience across Finland, Germany, the UK, and the United States, I bring both strategic and cultural perspective to growth decisions. My work often sits at the intersection of brand, leadership, and international expansion, helping Nordic and European companies translate their strengths into successful growth in the U.S. market.
"Creating clarity under complexity, so growth happens with direction, not confusion."
Growth doesn't usually fail because of execution. It fails because leaders scale confusion: more products, more hires, more markets, more initiatives. Not more clarity.
That's where I come in.
Three moments founders bring me in
Founders past founder-mode
You've built real traction, but priorities have multiplied and decisions have gotten heavier. We find the throughline again.
Nordic and European companies entering the U.S.
You know your product. The U.S. market is a different language, culturally and commercially; I help translate the fit.
Leadership teams at a pivotal decision
A positioning shift, an expansion, a change in direction: worth outside perspective before you commit resources to it.
The Clarity Before Growth Framework
The five questions I ask before we talk about growth.
What business are you really building?
Not what you sell today. What you're actually here to build.
Who should you matter to?
The audience worth being unmistakable for, and who to let go of.
What gives you the right to win?
The real reason customers choose you over anyone else.
What deserves your commitment?
Where your time, money, and attention should actually concentrate.
What should you deliberately ignore?
The distractions worth walking away from, on purpose.
The framework, in practice
Anonymized, but real: a look at the kinds of problems I help solve.
Helping an Early-Stage Wellness Brand Build a Stronger Commercial Foundation
A founder developing an innovative consumer wellness product needed more than a marketing plan. Together, we explored customer priorities, refined the ideal customer profile, clarified brand positioning, and identified the most effective channels for initial market entry. The work created a stronger strategic foundation before significant investment in execution.
Finding the Right U.S. Market for a Nordic Smart Technology Company
A Nordic smart-technology company saw significant potential in the U.S., but entering a large and fragmented market required sharper choices about where to compete and how to build relevance. I worked with the company to assess the opportunity, identify priority audiences and channels, and shape the go-to-market approach around the areas where its technology could create the strongest advantage. The resulting focus helped turn a broad U.S. opportunity into a more actionable market strategy and supported the company's development within its chosen niche.
Helping a Luxury Travel Venture Define Its Market Entry Strategy
A founder preparing to launch a new luxury travel concept sought strategic guidance on positioning, market entry, and commercial direction. Rather than starting with marketing tactics, we clarified the target audience, refined the value proposition, evaluated go-to-market options across multiple regions, and developed a phased launch approach that balanced ambition with available resources.
Turning Expertise into a Clearer Wellness Offering
An independent wellness and nutrition practice had strong subject-matter expertise but needed greater clarity around how that expertise translated into a compelling customer proposition. I helped refine the positioning and service architecture, strengthen the customer-facing narrative, and shape digital content and products around the needs of the target audience. The work brought greater coherence across the brand, services, website, and thought leadership, creating a stronger platform for visibility and future growth.
Supporting Nordic Companies Expanding into the U.S.
Several Nordic founder-led companies have sought guidance in navigating the complexity of the U.S. market. My role has been to help leadership teams evaluate market opportunities, adapt positioning where appropriate, prioritize commercial initiatives, and balance local market expectations with the strengths of their Nordic identity.

Ideas I keep coming back to
A few thoughts from where I write in the open: LinkedIn.
"They've become ruthlessly clear on the principles that guide them: what they stand for, who they serve, how they compete, and what they will consistently decline."Read the full post on LinkedIn ↗
"We would never talk about entering Europe as if Finland, Germany, Italy, and Spain were the same market. Yet many companies approach the U.S. exactly that way."Read the full post on LinkedIn ↗
"Running is probably the only time my head is completely clear. I don't even listen to music or podcasts on my runs, so it becomes harder to pretend I don't see those decisions anymore."Read the full post on LinkedIn ↗

Helping people think more clearly
I enjoy helping founders, leadership teams, students, and professional audiences think more clearly about growth, brand strategy, and decision-making. Whether in a keynote, executive workshop, university classroom, or small-group discussion, my goal is the same: turning complexity into practical, actionable clarity.

Questions worth answering upfront
Do you work with early-stage startups, or only established companies?
Mostly founders past the earliest startup stage, where real traction exists but priorities have multiplied and decisions have gotten harder.
Is this only for Nordic or European companies?
No. U.S. market entry for Nordic and European companies is one focus area among several; I work with founder-led companies more broadly.
What's the difference between the Clarity Sprint and Strategic Advisory?
The Sprint is a focused 4-week engagement for a specific decision point. Strategic Advisory is ongoing support as things evolve.
Are engagements remote, in person, or both?
Both. I work with clients in person, remotely, or a mix of the two, depending on what suits the engagement best.
How do we get started?
Reach out by email or LinkedIn, and we'll figure out together whether a Sprint or an ongoing relationship fits.
